We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Team Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our Community Services team in North Yorkshire. This role is ideal for HCAs who are ready to step into a leadership position and specialise in palliative and community care.
As a Senior HCA, you will lead, mentor, and support a team, coordinating care delivery for patients in their homes while maintaining high standards of clinical practice, compassion, and dignity.
Lead and coordinate care delivery in the community, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred practice
Mentor, supervise, and support HCAs and nursing staff, fostering a positive and learning-focused team culture
Develop and implement training and competency frameworks for the care team
Support delivery of complex and specialist palliative care
Oversee assessments, care planning, and implementation of individualised care in collaboration with patients, families, and colleagues
Manage complex symptoms and end-of-life care with sensitivity and clinical skill
Contribute to continuous service development and quality improvement initiatives
Act as a role model in delivering compassionate care and promoting organisational values
Significant experience in palliative care, oncology, or acute care settings
Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a clinical or community team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, confident, and professional approach to sensitive and complex care situations
Ability to coordinate care and lead others in a specialist area
Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Understanding of patient needs and ability to provide responsive, tailored care
Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (24-hour shift pattern, 5 over 7, including nights and weekends)
