The Role

We’re looking for a Director of FP&A to serve as a strategic thought partner to Andela’s executive team. This is not just a numbers role — it’s about shaping how the company plans, invests, and makes decisions as we scale globally.

You’ll lead our financial planning engine end-to-end while partnering closely with leaders across Product, Go-To-Market (GTM), and Operations. The right person thrives in ambiguity, brings structure to complexity, and helps the business see around corners.

This role is ideal for a proactive, low-ego leader who combines deep analytical rigor with strong business judgment and clear, compelling storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning

• Own Andela’s corporate financial model and lead all planning cycles: annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning

• Continuously evolve financial assumptions to support strategic shifts and growth initiatives

Investment & Capital Allocation

• Develop clear frameworks to evaluate investments, experiments, and new initiatives

• Bring financial discipline and structured thinking to tradeoff decisions

Performance & Insights

• Lead unit economics, cohort analysis, and scenario modeling to uncover optimization opportunities

• Define and forecast core metrics such as revenue, MRR, CAC, CLV, and churn — turning insights into actionable recommendations

Business Partnership

• Partner closely with Product and GTM leaders to build data-driven business cases for pricing, expansion, and growth initiatives

• Connect financial drivers to operating strategy as a true cross-functional partner

Executive & Investor Communication

• Craft clear, compelling, investor-ready narratives linking financial performance, business drivers, and forward-looking strategy

Team & Systems Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing FP&A team

• Build and scale a modern FP&A tech stack that enables self-service analytics across the organization

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or related fields

• 5+ years in corporate/strategic finance at a high-growth SaaS or technology company

• Background in Investment Banking or Private Equity strongly preferred

• 4+ years of people management experience, with a track record of building strong teams

• Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills; experience with modern FP&A tools such as Adaptive

• Exceptional communicator and storyteller — able to translate complex analysis into clear strategic insight for executives and boards

• Proven ability to influence across functions without direct authority

• Systems thinker who naturally connects financial performance to business strategy

• Curious, collaborative, proactive, and impact-driven mindset
