Personal Assistant

Description

Talents Quest is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and trustworthy Personal Assistant to provide person-centred support to an elderly client living near Lochmaben, Dumfries and Galloway.

The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing in a friendly home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, and occasional showering.
Prepare meals and drinks according to the client's needs.
Offer medication reminders and monitor general wellbeing.
Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations.
Support the client with daily routines while encouraging independence.
Adapt to changing care requirements with patience and professionalism.
Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
Work morning and evening visits as agreed with the client.

Requirements

• Previous experience in personal care, home care, or support work is preferred but not essential.
• Female applicants only (where legally applicable for personal care requirements).
• Valid UK driving licence and access to reliable transport are essential.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Kind, patient, compassionate, and trustworthy personality.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Willingness to complete or hold a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) membership if required.
• Ability to provide professional references upon request.
