Talents Quest is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Residential Child Care Worker to join our team in Bishopton. In this role, you will provide high-quality residential care and emotional support to children and young people, helping them develop confidence, independence, and life skills in a safe, nurturing environment.
You will work as part of a professional care team to promote the wellbeing, safety, and positive development of vulnerable young people while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
Provide emotional, social, and practical support based on individual care plans.
Assist with daily routines, education, recreational activities, and life skills development.
Promote children's rights, independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing residential environment.
Accurately complete care records, reports, and documentation.
Work collaboratively with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
Follow safeguarding, child protection, health & safety, and company policies.
Participate in a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and evenings.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is preferred.
- Qualification in Health & Social Care, Child Care, or a related field is desirable.
- Willingness to obtain or work towards relevant childcare qualifications if required.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, resilient, and professional attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Willingness to undergo enhanced background and safeguarding checks.
