Talents Quest is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Veterinary Nursing Assistant to join our veterinary team in York. The successful candidate will support veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses in delivering exceptional care to animals while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment.
This role is available on a Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time basis and includes weekend and holiday shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinary nurses and veterinarians with the care and treatment of animals.
Prepare consultation rooms, operating theatres, and medical equipment.
Safely handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control standards throughout the practice.
Support the admission, discharge, and recovery of patients.
Provide excellent customer service to pet owners and visitors.
Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative tasks when required.
Participate in weekend and holiday rota as scheduled.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or a veterinary practice is preferred but not essential.
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and veterinary care.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and hygiene.
